- Originally from Rochester, New York, Greg's family helped build the company Paychex from an idea in a garage to a multi-billion dollar company. Being the youngest in the family, Greg isolated himself, with no outlet except for his art.
While as a senior in high school, Greg was accepted to The Art Institute of California to study fine art and graphic design, but instead was pressured to focus on business. He graduated from St.Bonaventure University where he majored in Marketing and Fine Art. His art and true self expression were placed to the side, creating an internal friction he wasn't even aware of... a friction that he wouldn't overcome for many years.
For the next 20 years, Greg pin-balled around through different businesses, always trying to re-introduce some form of art into his life: graphic design, music promotion, sales, and producing films. Many people close to him saw a man in deep trouble. He had to make a choice to turn inside and take control of his life.
Which is exactly what he did through his art, which is an expression of the inner peace that he found. Looking at his beautiful, passion-filled abstracts, you can see the battles, the inner struggles, and the eyes of the hurricane, where peace exists.
In early 2013, in his own garage this time, he came up with the concept for Artistix. It would be a clothing line based on his paintings, so people who wear the clothes would know it comes from a true artist. The ultimate goal is for each new seasonal release to be based on a different one of Greg's abstracts. The initial release is based on his painting Stars and Stripes, an interpretation of the United States flag which has been featured in VA Hospitals, the Obama Whitehouse, and many other veterans associations across the country. - Sound Department
